I am an industry accredited and registered clinical psychotherapist specialising in Relationships, Men’s Wellness, Parenting, Clinical Supervision and Training. My reputed and respected practice melds creative, relational, psychotherapy methods through a focus on emotions, attachment theory and neurobiology.
It’s been a rich tapestry of experience and a comprehensive journey of discovery to reach this point in my life. And has included – like for many of us – the highs and lows of wellness. My experience ‘surviving’ 12 years as a front line police officer with the NSW police force, and recovering from PTSD, was foundational in shaping the type of man, partner, and father I wanted to – and hope I have – become. Since this time, my journey of recovery, growth, and opening has been life-changing.
I have been working with people, community, and organisations for over 30 years. My therapy practice, with couples, individuals, groups and families, is client-led, process orientated and experiential in nature. I endeavour to work deeply with clients influencing an embodied and life-long change process.
I am also honoured to work as a clinical supervisor and group leader for other therapists and small groups, bringing over 18 years experience and industry accreditation to this space. In addition to working with many therapists individually, I am also currently engaged with several organisations, entertainment industries, performers and artists running therapeutic groups.
Finally, I am a passionate educator and trainer and I run workshops nationally and internationally to other therapists, workplaces and community. Offering training in areas like Couples Therapy and Team development.
My work has been reviewed on radio, television, podcasts and in print. I have been a radio presenter and podcaster for Pregnancy Birth and Beyond where I was privileged to interview contemporary thinkers and activists in the world of parenting and relationship, specifically around issues facing dads and men.
I have a Masters in Gestalt Therapy (completing a Lit Review on Attachment Theory and Couples Therapy), undergraduate studies in social science and welfare and specialised training in relationships, parenting and group facilitation including: Art of Relationship, Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples, Effective Group leadership, Trauma Informed Practice, Tuning into Kids/Teens and child consultation. I am a Clinical member of PACFA and a member of ACRC and GANZ. These memberships guide and inform the ethics and professionalism I bring to my practice.
Most importantly I am a father of two, musician and have been partnered with my wife for 20 years. I hope we get to meet sometime…
