“I love the ocean… I always have. I grew up close to the beach and still today continue to find such an affinity with the energy and power of the majestic Pacific.”

For me, its the ocean’s sound, movement and colour. The interaction of an ever changing kaleidoscope between land and water, weather and seasons. It’s capacity to wash away the past, or charge me up for the future is always soul soothing.

As a family we already support several charities, however my motivation for donating a small percentage of my profits to Surfaid is inspired through a desire to express my passion, and a recognition that my privilege impacts our global community.

Who are Surfaid? They are a non-profit humanitarian organisation whose aim is to improve the health, wellbeing and self-reliance of people living in isolated regions connected to us through surfing.

SurfAid therefore provides very practical support such as materials to build water tanks, water taps and toilets for clean water and sanitation, mosquito nets to avoid malaria, and vegetable seeds to help establish nutrition gardens to eradicate malnutrition. But it is the capacity building of community health volunteers, schoolchildren, community members and relevant government staff that really lies at the heart of what SurfAid does.
